it's because you are moving the two bolts away from the magnets inside the middle section. if the bolts are touching the magnets it's going to degrade the magnetic field and reduce the efficiency of the motor.

I don't know how or why people would fish from shore with braided line but every summer and fall when I wade the Susky, I always find tons of it. That stuff is too expensive for me.

Unless they state the ID when your buying on line then it's a crap shoot not knowing how it will may fit your rod or not, if your buying in person you can measure and possibly find the correct id to match your rod, heck I am trying to figure out how to remove the butt cap so i can add a thicker lower handle then replace the butt cap, looks like they glued it on someway?
